Mirjam Budday was a scholarship holder of the "Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes" and studied oboe in Stuttgart with Prof. Ingo Goritzki and at the Royal Academy of Music, London with Tess Miller and Douglas Boyd.
She has been principal English horn of the Radiophilharmonie of Norddeutscher Rundfunk since August 2008. In addition to her work in the orchestra, she is also a certified yoga teacher and coach, Theta Healing® practitioner and mental trainer, with a particular focus on the needs of musicians. With her coaching concept "Fit in the game with brains - audition and concert preparation through yoga and mental training", she prepares musicians specifically for extreme audition situations. From 2015 to 2018, Mirjam Budday taught yoga at Johnson Controls in Hanover. She currently gives a weekly online yoga course for musicians and has been coaching the Joseph Joachim Academy of the NDR Radiophilharmonie with musician-specific yoga since September 2015. She also works closely with Prof. Eckart Altenmüller (Director of the Institute for Music Physiology and Musicians' Medicine at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media) and Gordana Crnkovic (Head of the "Art and Health" department at the Rostock University of Music and Drama). She has been teaching musician-specific yoga and mental training at the Rostock University of Music and Drama since 2018, regularly gives yoga workshops at various music conservatories in Germany and accompanies audition training courses with musician-specific yoga and mental training, for example at the Mainz University of Music, the Royal Academy of Music London and the Orchestra Academy of the Kassel State Orchestra.
In September 2021, she was engaged as a lecturer for yoga and bodywork at the 66th JM International Chamber Music Campus. Here, Mirjam Budday supplemented the musical work of professors Heime Müller, Günter Pichler, Marianna Shirinyan and the Cuarteto Casals with musician-specific bodywork, yoga and mental training to prepare students for top performances.
